Elizabeth Brown, M.D.

Medical Director

As Argenta’s lead medical director, Dr. Brown provides insight into the payer process and perspective on the creation of healthcare coverage policies for medical devices, biologics, pharmaceuticals, molecular diagnostics, and related services. She leverages her deep knowledge of the key points affecting coverage policy development in order to help innovators best leverage their available clinical outcomes evidence and payer value propositions, which are aimed at developing succinct payer messaging outlining the need for access to care. Her work has impacted the commercialization and market access plans for both early-stage innovators and established medtech industry giants.

Prior to Argenta, Dr. Brown spent over two decades in technology assessment and coverage policy development, working for national payers such as Aetna, the BlueCross BlueShield Association and WellPoint Health Networks. She spent ten of those years leading the medical policy department at the BlueCross BlueShield Association, where she was responsible for developing and maintaining all medical policies, as well as reviewing over 200 different technologies every year.

Dr. Brown also has extensive experience in writing continuing medical education material for both the AMA and the National Comprehensive Cancer Networks, where she served as a Senior Oncology Advisor.

Dr. Brown earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois and completed her pathology residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, where she served as chief resident.
